ISML Regular Season is Over

Shana

It seems to me that it was yesterday when ISML 2009 began, but regular season has reached its end, and 16 remaining competitors are going to battle in the Double Elimination. Most of them have been expected to advance, but there are some I didn’t think they would go further. And there are also some that I expected to advance but they haven’t.

What made me most upset is the absence of Rika-chama in Double Elimination. She just belongs to the top 16. Also the absence of Kotomi is quite disheartening. Both of them are my favorite characters, as you can easily tell from the header of this blog. If I could I would replace Shinku and Suiseiseki in the top 16 with Kotomi and Rika. That way, I would have no complaints about the cast that will sail on the ship called Double Elimination.

The Double Elimination is a kind of play-off that is a little bit hard to explain. Well, this say the rules at ISML site about the DE.

The Postseason is a double-elimination-style tournament with the top 16 ranked contestants over the entire Regular Season. Double-elimination style involves a Winners’ Bracket and Losers’ bracket where contestants must be defeated twice to be removed from the competition. The winner of the Postseason will be awarded the Tiara.

Okay, I hope you get it now. At least a little. Anyways, in the first round, the competitors are seeded according to the regular season standings. #1 from regular season faces #16. #2 faces #15, #3 faces #14, and so on. The first round called Preliminary Round of Judgment takes place on September 28. So do not miss that date, and vote for your favorite characters.

Okay, and here comes the time for my as-always-certainly-wrong predictions. I think that Shana will defeat Yuki in the 3rd Round of Revelation. Tomoyo will defeat Fate in 5th Round of Elimination and then Tomoyo will defeat Yuki in 6th round. Shana vs. Tomoyo final will go in favor of Shana who will get the Tiara. Okay, enough of some predictions. Let’s wait and see how it will all turn out in the end.

For the time being, you can admire this picture of Tomoyo I have just come across.
