Bakuman anime green-lit for 2010


Bakuman, manga weekly published in Shounen Jump, is getting an anime adaptation, and J.C.STAFF are in charge of it. Kasai Kenichi (Nodame Cantabile, Hachimitsu to Clover) is directing. The broadcast start is due to Fall 2010 and the series will have 25 episodes.

Bakuman is a shounen manga written by Ooba Tsugumi and illustrated by Obata Takeshi. These two have worked together before on highly appreciated manga, Death Note. The story of Bakuman follows two boys, a talented artist named Moritaka Mashiro and a promising writer Takagi Akito, who both wish to become mangaka.

Bakuman manga has ranked first in the men’s part of “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2010” manga rankings, leaving behind series very well known worldwide, such as Hagane no Renkinjutsushi or One Piece.
