Why people do not play games?

Consumer electronics association CEA has conducted a survey inquiring people about the reason why they do not play games. The results were presented at the world’s largest consumer electronics tradeshow CES.

Survey results:

(Not interested)
(Not a gamer)
(Not enough time)
(Too expensive)
(Violence in games)
(Habit forming)
(Too complicated)
(Only kids use them)
(Other)

It’s a very good news that only 2% responded that games are for children. I think that this general misconception is fading out, finally. I expected more people to say they don’t have time for it, but some people who responded that they aren’t gamers might not be gamers precisely because they don’t have time for playing games.

I don’t have much time to play games either, so I’m not sure if I’m a gamer or not when I play only occasionally. But visual novels are generally regarded as games, aren’t they? (I consider them to be more like books though) If yes, then I am a gamer ^^
