Shimamiya Eiko, the main vocalist of the I’ve Sound group and probably best known for singing the opening themes for anime series Higurashi, revealed on Tuesday via her Twitter account that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer on May 10. As an obvious result, her concert “Eiko Shimamiya 2010 Live ‘Perfect World’” scheduled on June 20 has been canceled. Shimamiya’s condition is not life-threatening and she will undergo a surgery in which they will remove the lymphoma in her thyroid gland. However, the post-surgery rehabilitation will take some time and she might not be able to fully recover her voice. Let us pray for her fast and in the first place full recovery.
